Well the plan was to escape from the office early (3pm-ish), stuff our things into the rental car, and drive to Tennessee that night. Unfortunately, a sudden customer issue held me back from getting out early, and for a while, even threatened to cancel the entire weekend's plan! I called the wife and broke the bad news - that we would not get out Friday, and would have to leave Saturday morning. The whole team at the office had been banging on this customer complaint for several days, and we banged on it some more Friday. Finally, in late afternoon Friday, we concluded the problem was not ours, but must be something on their side. The customer was also looking at it, as well as a tech-support guy from the Operating-System vendor, so they had been following our efforts as well as making their own. Thus, our conclusion was not a big surprise to them, and we were all free for the Memorial Day weekend.
